Larry Lashbrook is a passionate inventor and true revolutionary at heart. As one of Southeast’s most respected Master Luthiers, Larry has over 40 years experience performing set-ups and repairs and making high-end, hand built, custom guitars. He has worked with hundreds of professional musicians, most notably, Yngwie Malmsteen, with whom Larry has a strong working relationship spanning nearly two decades.

In 1964 Larry began Lashbrook guitars while still a senior in High school. Working out of his parent’s home, he began teaching himself the skills of the trade while soaking up whatever knowledge he could from local Luthiers and music shops. He began repairing guitars for his friends and soon became busy as his reputation for high quality work spread.

Before long Larry was building some pretty respectable instruments. Like many Luthier’s he began by building classic designs popular to the era. His first models were reminiscent of Gibson’s 335, and also built Les Paul style solid bodies, but he incorporated his own innovations in hardware, materials, and set-up technique. His passion for building guitars continued to grow, as did his knowledge and steady stream of customers. In 1972, Larry moved out of his parent’s home and bought his first house, which came equipped with a small workshop out back.

In 1977, Larry expanded his workspace and soon began acquiring more tools and building his own carving machines which would allow him to produce precision necks and bodies. In the late 80s, Larry found that he was no longer motivated to build traditional designs and wanted to do something revolutionary, so he started designing a new guitar from scratch. He wanted to build a truly original guitar where everything was considered. It would not only have to be beautiful and play well, but also offer greater variety of tones and increased functionality. Always challenging conventional wisdom, Lashbrook set out on his life-long quest to build the “perfect guitar”.

Nearly 20 years later, this self-taught master believes that he has done just that. With an instrument that plays and intonates flawlessly, is beautiful and ergonomic, light weight and resonant, and features the finest materials and impeccable hand-built craftsmanship.

Lashbrook's proprietary electronic components are the heart and soul of this instrument, offering tonal versatility like no other. Lashbrook has developed a proprietary humbucking pickup, a proprietary Tune-O-Matic style piezo bridge, and custom circuitry. The Lashbrook LTH-1boasts an unbelievable range of electric tones as well as authentic flat-top acoustic and big jazz guitar sounds, courtesy of the new piezo technology. The LTH-1 produces only natural sounds, there is no need for synths, chips, batteries or a preamp. The quality and range of natural tone can be attributed only to Larry’s keen understanding of electronics, principles of sound, superior engineering and hand made craftsmanship.

The LTH-1, Lashbrook’s first production model is the culmination of his thorough knowledge of the instrument, countless years of R&D and his tenacious, inventor’s spirit. It may well be the perfect guitar!
